A Rare Find! 2.93 Acre Waterfront Homesite on Lake Phelps!
This rare oversized Lake Phelps waterfront property is remote and tranquil. This isn’t your typical 80′ wide .25 (quarter) acre waterfront lot packed in a sub-division. This massive waterfront lot has 370′ of waterfront and over 300′ of depth. Everything about this property points to tranquility and remote lake living. Much of the lakefront is owned by the state or federal government making development very limited. The lake is clear and home to some of the best bass fishing in the state. An elevated small home sits waterfront. The home is in need of repair as shown in the pictures. The dock provides beautiful views of the lake and also serves as a watercraft lift. A little over an acre is vacant to the east of the dirt driveway and could accommodate a home if it will support a septic system. Keep the improvements or wipe the lot clean and start fresh.

Lake Phelps is North Carolina’s second largest natural lake. It has a surface area of 16,600 acres (67 km2), and it is located primarily in Washington County on the Albemarle-Pamlico Peninsula between the Albemarle Sound and the Pamlico Sound. The easternmost part of the lake extends into Tyrrell County. An Indian dugout canoe was found in the lake dating back nearly 4,400 years. Other artifacts have been found around the area dating as early as 8,000 B.C.
Its origin has long puzzled scientists. Some say that its origin is underground springs, wave action, wind, a meteor, glacial activity or a peat burn. It is more or less a round shape. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Phelps
