Robeson County Land and Farms

Lumber River State Park is popular with campers, hikers, paddlers and fishermen who catch crappie, bass, catfish and panfish. Hunters go after deer, turkeys, doves and occasionally wild hogs. There also is waterfowl hunting, and some farmers make impoundments out of a portion of their fields. Archaeological excavations have found continuous occupation of the region by various cultures of indigenous peoples since the last Ice Age. Public Schools of Robeson County provides public education to K-12. University of North Carolina at Pembroke offers higher learning.
